Online Therapy
I was one of the first psychotherapists to offer online sessions - since 1998, back when most colleagues were skeptical. Today, after decades of experience, I can say: online therapy works.
A pioneer in online therapy
When I started offering distance therapy in the late 1990s, many doubted whether real therapeutic connection was possible without physical presence. But I saw the potential: people who couldn't come to see me in person, expats moving between countries, clients traveling for work - they all deserved access to quality therapy.
Years later, especially after 2020, the world caught up. What was once unusual is now mainstream. And I bring over two decades of online therapy experience to every session.
Why no email therapy?
I do not offer consultations by email. In my approach, the presence of both therapist and client is crucial - even through a screen. Real-time connection allows for the authentic encounter that makes therapy work.
Choose your platform
I adapt to what works best for you:
- Zoom - stable, professional, easy to use
- WhatsApp Video - convenient if you're already using it
- Telegram - for those who prefer it
- Microsoft Teams - if your work environment uses it
- Other platforms - just ask
Is online therapy right for you?
Online therapy is ideal if you:
- Live outside Prague or Czech Republic
- Travel frequently for work
- Have mobility limitations
- Prefer the comfort and privacy of your own space
- Are an expat who might relocate
The therapeutic relationship, the listening, the presence - all of this translates well to video. What matters most is not the medium, but the quality of connection.
Practical tips for online sessions
- Sessions last 45 minutes, just like in-person therapy
- Find a quiet, private space where you won't be interrupted
- Use headphones for better audio and privacy
- Test your connection before the first session
- Have a backup plan (phone number) in case of technical issues
