Child Therapy

Children express themselves differently than adults. In play therapy, I meet children in their natural language – through play, creativity, and imagination.

Why play therapy?

Play is the child's natural way of communicating. While adults typically talk about their problems, children show them through play. In a safe, accepting environment, children can express feelings they might not have words for yet.

What brings children to therapy?

  • Anxiety, fears, or excessive worrying
  • Behavioral changes or difficulties
  • Sadness or withdrawal
  • Difficulty with transitions (new school, divorce, moving)
  • Trauma or loss
  • Social difficulties or friendship problems
  • Low self-esteem

How I work with children

Following the person-centred approach, I believe every child has an innate drive toward healthy development. My role is to provide a warm, accepting space where this natural growth can unfold.

In the playroom, the child leads. I follow their play, reflect their feelings, and offer unconditional acceptance. There's no "right" or "wrong" way to play – the child is free to express whatever needs to come out.

Working with parents

Parents are essential partners in child therapy. I offer regular consultations to:

  • Understand the home context
  • Share general observations (while respecting the child's confidentiality)
  • Support parents in responding to their child's needs

Practical information

  • Sessions last 45 minutes
  • Typically weekly sessions work best for children
  • Available in English, German, and French
  • Initial parent consultation to understand the situation
